Creatives' Cove: Sacred Images Workshop with Louise Victor
Description
Join the Creatives' Cove for our last event of the semester – mosaic triptych-making with artist Louise Victor!
Inspired by the icons on display in the Doug Adams Gallery exhibition, Sacred Mobility: The Travels of Hindu & Eastern Orthodox Holy Images, this workshop will teach you how to create your own portable sacred images.
Louise Victor is an artist, passionate about her work and eager to inspire others to explore their creativity. She is an educator, having taught and mentored others for many years. She has presented lectures and workshops at numerous venues, including Arts Benicia, Marin MOCA, the ICB, Jen Tough Gallery, and the GTU. Her interest in everything creative has brought her employment as an architectural draughtsman, printmaker, bookmaker, and curator. Foundational to Louise’s visual expression is her many years as an aviator. She is the second woman in the world to qualify as a pilot in command on the Boeing 757/767 with American Airlines. She is greatly influenced by her experiences as a commercial airline pilot, capturing in her paintings moments of wonder and awe.
